New Student Welcome

Introduction

The Center for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), GLA Online University, organized a New Student Welcome Program for the July 2025 Batch on 6th September 2025. The event was designed to extend a warm welcome to new learners, introduce them to the academic and administrative framework of CDOE, and provide an overview of the Learning Management System (LMS) and Examination process.

Objectives of the Session

  • To welcome new students and familiarize them with CDOE.
  • To highlight the vision, mission, and support ecosystem of GLA Online University.
  • To introduce students to the Learning Management System (LMS) for academic delivery.
  • To provide clarity on Examination processes and guidelines.
  • To build confidence among students and encourage active engagement.

Session Overview

The program commenced at 9:00 AM with the Welcoming of Students and CDOE Overview by Dr. Ritika Srivastava and Dr. Shilpa Agarwal, who highlighted the significance of distance and online learning at GLA Online University.

At 9:10 AM, Prof. (Dr.) S. C. Joshi, Director of CDOE, delivered his Address, emphasizing GLA’s commitment to academic excellence, flexibility, and holistic learner support.

From 9:20 AM to 9:40 AM, the LMS Overview was presented, demonstrating how students can access study materials, assignments, lecture videos, and interactive forums.

The Examination Overview session was conducted from 9:40 AM to 9:55 AM by Ms. Chandrika and Mr. Satyam Choudhary (Exam Coordinator), who explained examination guidelines, evaluation methods, and assessment policies. The event concluded at 9:55 AM with Concluding Remarks by Dr. Khusboo Srivastava (HoD), who reassured students of continuous academic and administrative support.

Audience and Participation

The session was attended by 687 participants, comprising newly admitted students of the July 2025 batch and faculty members. Students actively engaged in the program, asking queries regarding LMS usage, exam procedures, and academic support services, while faculty members contributed to ensuring smooth interaction and support.

Feedback and Outcomes

The feedback from participants reflected high satisfaction. Students appreciated the clarity of instructions, structured introduction to LMS, and the supportive environment created by faculty and coordinators. The session fostered a sense of belonging and motivation among learners, setting a positive start to their academic journey.

The event concluded successfully, marking the beginning of the July 2025 academic session with enthusiasm and confidence.
