GLA Online E-Hackathon 2025

Fueling Ideas, Igniting Innovation
GLA Online University successfully organized its much-anticipated E-Hackathon 2025 in online mode via the Zoom platform on 19th and 20th July 2025. The event served as a platform for young innovators, tech enthusiasts, and problem solvers to showcase their creativity, technical skills, and collaborative spirit. With the theme “Imagination Meets Innovation”, the hackathon brought together learners from diverse disciplines to tackle real-world problems through technology-driven solutions.

Day 1 – Inaugural Ceremony & Hackathon Launch

The event commenced at 9AM with the inaugural ceremony, hosted by Dr. Shilpa Agarwal and Ms. Shreyi Mittal who set the tone with inspiring words on innovation and collaboration.

Key Highlights of Inaugural Session

  • Prof. (Dr.) Suresh C. Joshi, Director, GLA Online University, and Convener of the E-Hackathon – emphasized the role of technology-driven solutions in education.
  • Prof. (Dr.) Diwakar Bhardwaj, Guest of honour, Pro-Vice Chancellor, GLA Online University – encouraged student-centric innovation and research excellence.
  • Prof. (Dr.) Anshuman Jaswal, Chief Guest, Director, NMIMS Indore – inspired participants with his insights on leadership, innovation, and global perspectives.

Co-Convener Ms. Sowmyashree presented an overview of the hackathon, outlining its objectives, themes, format, and judging criteria.

  • Total Registrations: 45 (27 individuals + 7 teams)
  • Active Participants: 28 (15 individuals + 5 teams)

    • Team 7 - 3 members

The event proudly introduced the expert judges – Mr. Anand Bhaigade and Mr. Mitesh Agarwal, celebrated tech leaders bringing industry excellence to the panel.

The Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Anshuman Jaswal, officially declared the hackathon open, marking the beginning of the 12-hour coding marathon. A heartfelt vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Khushboo Srivastava, Head of Department, CDOE, GLA Online University.

The day concluded with a rousing call to action — empowering participants to innovate, collaborate, and code their way to transformation.

Co-Convener Ms. Sakshi Agarwal briefed participants about the hackathon domains.

Coding marathon began with assigning problem statements to the learners at 10 am

  • First Evaluation Round (12:00–2:00 PM): Judges reviewed proposals and provided guidance.
  • Second Evaluation Round (6:00 PM onwards): Mid-progress demos were assessed.
  • Final Evaluation Round (9:00 PM onwards): Participants presented their working prototypes.

The Zoom session concluded at 11:20 PM, making Day 1 a 14+ hour marathon of innovation and a suspenseful wait for results to be announced on Day 2.

Day 2 – Valedictory Ceremony & Results

The Valedictory Session on 20th July 2025 marked the grand finale of the hackathon. The session began with a recap of the participants’ journey – from brainstorming to prototyping – highlighting their passion, resilience, and creativity.

The event was graced by:

  • Prof. (Dr.) Suresh C. Joshi Director, GLA Online University – who once again motivated students to push the boundaries of innovation.
  • Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Ahlawat, Guest of Honour – a seasoned Digital Learning Strategist, who shared his vision on digital transformation in academia.

The judges, Mr. Anand Bhaigade and Mr. Mitesh Agarwal, reflected on the creativity and problem-solving approaches demonstrated by the participants.

Prizes and Recognition

To encourage innovation and recognize outstanding performance, attractive cash prizes and certificates were announced for the participants:

  • 1st Prize – ₹5,000
  • 2nd Prize – ₹3,000
  • 3rd Prize – ₹2,000
  • Best Innovation Award – ₹1,000
  • Best Presentation Award – ₹1,000
  • Certificates of Participation were awarded to all participants.

  • 1st Prize – Mr. Rana Karmakar (MCA Semester 3)
  • 2nd prize– Mr. Kartikey Sharma (BCA Semester 3)
  • 3rd prize (Team of 3 members) – Mr. Raish Vadaviya, Mr. Paras Tyagi, and Mr. Tawfeek Ahmad Khan (BCA Semester 4)
  • Best Innovation Award – Ms. Seema (BCA Semester 3)
  • Best Presentation Award – Mr. Chirag Soni (BCA Semester 3)

Prize money was credited to the winners’ bank accounts within two weeks, and appreciation certificates were emailed to all participants.

Glimpses of Winning Projects

First Prize– Stock Market AI Agent Chatbot (by Rana Karmakar, MCA Semester 3): An intelligent assistant for stock market analysis using Python, LangGraph, and Cerebras LLM. It fetches real-time news via RSS, detects ticker symbols, and delivers concise insights. Future enhancements include ticker resolution, Yahoo Finance integration, and a web-based UI.

Second Prize – LegalEase (by Kartikeya Sharma, BCA Semester 3): An AI-powered platform that simplifies legal documents into plain-English summaries with contextual Q&A. Built with Next.js and Google Gemini 1.5 Flash, it ensures privacy-first processing and user-friendly animated UI.

Third prize – EcoTrack (by Tawfeeq, Paras & Raish, BCA Semester 4): A web and mobile-friendly tracker of personal carbon footprints. Built with React, Python, MongoDB, and n8n automation, it provides AI-driven eco-suggestions and interactive dashboards.

Best Presentation – MindScribble (by Chirag Soni, BCA Semester 3): A collaborative whiteboard platform developed with the MERN stack and Socket.IO. It supports draggable sticky notes, freehand drawing, JWT-based authentication, and real-time syncing.

Best Innovation – AI-Powered Resume Enhancer (by Seema, BCA Semester 3): A Next.js and AI-powered resume tool that provides instant feedback on clarity, formatting, and keywords. It ensures privacy, supports PDF uploads, and offers personalized improvement suggestions.

Conclusion

The GLA Online E-Hackathon 2025 was not just a competition but a celebration of ideas, collaboration, and innovation. Over two days, students transformed challenges into opportunities, showcasing that “hackathons don’t just build apps, they build mindsets.” The event concluded with a vote of thanks and encouraging words from the convener, reminding participants to continue innovating and daring to dream. With overwhelming participation and inspiring outcomes, GLA Online E-Hackathon 2025 successfully paved the way for future changemakers and digital leaders.

Our gratitude extends to Mr. Aditya Tiwari, who worked tirelessly in managing registrations, participant data, and mentoring learners during the hackathon.

We are equally grateful to all faculty members who encouraged learners to participate, and most importantly, to our participants—whose innovation, perseverance, and collaborative spirit turned this hackathon into a truly memorable experience.

With the collective efforts of everyone involved, GLA Online E-Hackathon 2025 became more than just a competition—it became a celebration of imagination, innovation, and teamwork.
